The Shoreline Rotary Foundation was incorporated by the Rotary Club of Shoreline in Washington State on April 2,1999 as a non-profit charitable organization.  Permanent Internal Revenue Service status as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization was granted in 2003.

The Rotary Club of Shoreline Breakfast was invited to join the Foundation and did so in 2000.

All members of the Clubs are members of the Foundation.  The goal of the two clubs through the Foundation is to address the concerns and needs of the youth, aged, disabled, and disadvantaged both within the greater City of Shoreline community and throughout the world.  Meeting those needs is accomplished through funding of projects and hands-on assistance.

Funds are raised through a variety of events, donations from members and from the public, both private individuals and businesses.  A portion of the funds raised each year are set aside in an Endowment Fund to perpetuate the Foundation and continue it's efforts in future years.

The projects of the members of the Foundation are many and varied.   Efforts are in three avenues of service:  Community, Vocational and International following the motto of Rotary, "Service Above Self".

Polio Plus, a Rotary International project, has the goal of eradicating polio throughout the world.  The Foundation and members have been generous with their financial support and members have visited other countries to administer the polio vaccine.

Rotacare provides medical assistance to families without adequate medical care.

Rotary Homeless Foundation and Teen Hope receive funds and goods to support housing for homeless youth.

Members have traveled to Chile and Peru to fund and build water systems, buildings to support education and medical needs

Educational supplies have been provided to schools in Mexico

Scholarships are granted annually to graduating seniors from the three high schools in Shoreline and students of the month are acknowledged,

Outbound exchange students are given the opportunity to study abroad and inbound students study
locally.
Dictionaries are given to all thrid grade students in the Shorleine School District.

Many local organizations are assisted in their efforts to help the youth in our community in sports and educational opportunities.  The Shoreline School District, the Shoreline Community College and local parks reap the benefits of both funding and hands-on help from our members and the Foundation.

The governing Board of the Foundation is composed of eight Trustees who meet monthly.
